2006 Open enrollment has now ended. Only those who become eligible  for Medicare during the remainder of this year will be able to enroll, until the 2007 open enrollment period Nov. 15 to Dec. 31, 2006.  for an effective date of Jan. 2007. If you have not enrolled, you may do so at that time, but will incur a late enrollment penalty.
